On behalf of all the staff I am happy to welcome you to Newton Road School, a proud member of the Nene Education Trust. There are many exciting things in store for all of our children. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognise that in order to be successful in school our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that your child:
- Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning
- Completes all homework and hands it in on time
- Promotes our school values in and out of school
- Reads daily to develop a love for reading and improve their English skills
- Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
Vision and Values
Our school vision is:
To ensure our children are given the opportunities to DREAM of a bright future, BELIEVE in themselves, and ACHIEVE their highest potential in school and throughout their life so that they can truly make a difference wherever they go.
Our aim is to ensure that all children are able to learn and thrive in a learning environment that is built on mutual respect. Our core values are a fundamental part of school life and enable us to show PRIDE in all that we do:
P – Positivity
R – Respect
I – Integrity
D – Determination
E – Excellence
PRIDE will be referred to daily during lessons and assemblies and pupils and staff have a good understanding of how their actions reflect each value and support a cohesive community. Our children at Newton Road will be expected to show our values on a daily basis and of course this will be recognised.
We are aware of the vitally important part that we play in a child’s upbringing as children spend a great deal of their time at school. Therefore, the role we play is so very important and we take the responsibility very seriously.
